Saad Ashraf- Academy Director Nevada Elite
Tennis Training
Saad’s tennis academy is rooted in the belief that tennis teaches life skills, such as problem solving, patience, self control, and creative thinking. Passing these lessons on to kids is the basis and passion that drives him and fellow instructors.
A former coach and player at Georgia State University. Saad began teaching juniors full time in 2003. Along with a world class coaching staff that includes Gorazd Gavrilov, Brian Wilson and Lew De Leon, encourage students through positive attitude and hard work ethic.
Gorazd Gavrilov
Gorazd was a promising junior in Yugoslavia and was ranked top 5 in both 12 and 14 under. He started coaching seriously as a student at University of Ljubljana, Slovenia where he graduated in international relations, while also winning a university championship and finishing twice as a runner-up.
In 1996 he joined a club in his hometown (TK Svoboda) where he became an assistant coach working mostly with advanced juniors. In 2000 Gorazd was invited to start coaching at Sport Plus, a club that developed the most successful juniors in the history of the country. Eventually he became the head coach and stayed there until 2006.
Gorazd has more than 12 years of coaching experience on national and international level. Developing and coaching tennis players on ITF men’s and women’s tour, WTA tour and ITF junior tour and ETA circuit.
Brian Wilson
-Age: 25
-Grew up in San Diego. Played basketball, soccer, and tennis until age 15. Lived and trained at the Weil Tennis Academy during junior and senior years of high school. Enjoys working out, movies, gadgets and is very close to family in California.
-#1 in Boys 18s Southern California
-Top 5 in US Boys 18’s
-Member of University of Illinois Tennis Team 2000-2004
-In 2003, part of undefeated 32-0 NCAA Championship team
-Also, in 2003 won Men’s NCAA Doubles Championship with Rajeev Ram
-In 2004 ranked #1 in the country in Men’s NCAA singles, and named Senior Player of the Year
-ATP Tour Pro
-15 ATP and ITF Titles
-5 Top 100 wins
-World Team Tennis wins over: Pete Sampras, Patrick Rafter, Mark Knowles, Dimirty Toursonouv, and Rick Leach
-Played in Wimbledon, Australian Open, and U.S. Open
